As for me, I’m stubborn as hell. It usually takes me many painful lessons before I surrender to my ego and listen to the lesson. I will gaslight myself to believe the reality that doesn’t exist.

I keep the wrong people in my life; I treat my body and health like total shit and jump into other distractions to avoid the change. Change is difficult, primarily when you’ve used all the unhealthy coping mechanisms your entire life to get by. Your mind will automatically default to what isn’t working through the years of conditioning. Changing your mindset, thoughts, and life the older you get is challenging.

I’m 46, and I fear it may be too late, but I will keep trying until I take my last breath. I am getting there at a snail’s pace. I can see the change in the distance, but the closer I get, the slower I run.

Change isn’t fun, and it’s painful. Below are ten things I learned through life lessons that no one told me about.

  1. A lot of time and energy can be wasted on the wrong people. Once a person shows you who they are with actions and not words, you will have your answer. Pay careful attention.
