12 Important Concepts I learned as I Got Older
With age comes awareness and wisdom if you allow it.

I’m 47 years old and still learning each and every day. Some lessons are more challenging than others, and some I repeat because I never learned my lesson. Some days the struggle seems impossible, but I continue to focus on myself the best I can and grow.
Below are some lessons I’ve learned in my 46 years of life.
- Parenting: Pretty frightening. Many with kids should never be parents, and those without, should.
- Words: Choose your words wisely. You have no idea the impact they can have on those around you. I’m not talking about the “sensitivity” we’ve been conditioned to accept. Simply “think before you speak” to loved ones.
- Relationships: They are essential for growth, even when very painful. The key is to find someone aware enough of their “shit” and accept yours as you work through life together and support one another.
- People: I always cared what people thought about me. Still do to an extent. As you age, you will realize very few deserve your time and love. You will also learn, you gave it many times to those less than deserving. Many are too occupied with themselves to care about what you’re doing.
