I seem to love torturing myself. I can’t count how many times I crawled back to an ex that always ends in the same fashion, more torture. I have been called stubborn by many; sometimes, a degree of stubbornness is good, but not when it leads to self-deprecating behavior.

So, I decided to list things I have learned from her. Some are painful, but some shed light on different aspects of my life I need to work on.

  • Love can be wrapped in many layers, and the layer you are looking for sometimes won’t be found.
  • Just because you love someone doesn’t mean they will love you back.
  • “I love you” means nothing if it isn’t backed up with actions.
  • The person you trust the most can and will be the most untrustworthy.
  • The hug, the kiss, the touch, the laughter means nothing without trust.
  • It can take a matter of seconds to hurt someone and a lifetime to repair.
  • I’m not unique. I can be replaced in minutes.
  • A relationship without communication and loyalty is like a bird without wings.
  • Just because you didn’t love me doesn’t mean I am…
