Consistency is more important than you think
Am I successful? Who knows, many things can determine success, and it is dependent upon the person.
Many think a certain number of followers and earnings deem success. Other’s say it’s the views, reads, or claps.
What’s my idea of success?
I’d say a combination of all I mentioned above, but for me, it’s the engagement with my readers, and hopefully, they take something of value away with what I write. It’s a nice little incentive if I get paid to help others, too, even if it’s one person that takes something away from an article and comments; that is great! But of course, the more, the better.
I’ve been consistently writing on Medium now for six months. I started over at Quora a little over a year ago. I saw mentions of Medium but never really looked in writing here. Until one day, I decided to try it, and that was six months ago. I’m averaging about 25,000 views a month with earnings around the $700-$900 range per month. Is that great? Again, I’m not sure, but from research, I see less than 8% off all writers make $100 a month, so I think it’s excellent by those standards!
