Are Covert Narcissists Really That Dangerous?
I used to think they were, but my feelings have changed.
To the untrained and inexperienced mind, yea, they can be deadly. They can kill your soul while wrecking your mind and then one day you wake up a different person. The years of gaslighting and manipulation will take its toll if you allow it.
But if you really step back and look at it; is it really that dangerous when someone shows you shortly into the relationship who they really are? They can’t help you fell for it.
It’s who they are. It’s your problem you don’t believe them, not theirs. They are about as transparent as it comes with their actions. That’s your first problem, you ignored their actions while being lost in bliss with their words.
They can’t help they repeatedly abused you not only were their actions that didn’t disgust you enough, then you actually believed their bullshit words.
What’s dangerous is what you put up with and allow.
They don’t do anything a willing volunteer(oops, victim) doesn’t allow. Yep, after you are aware of what they are doing you’re allowing it. And if you think lying, cheating, betraying and manipulating is something that deserves multiple chances, well…….
