Jake walked out of his apartment, and there she was. He swore to himself and everyone around him that he was done. There is no way she ever loved him, but he fell for her words again. Her silent cry of desperation permeated Jake’s soul once again.
She needs help, he thought, and there is no better person than “Jake” to help him. He knows here; he understands her.
Her frail body got out of her car
Her sunglasses barely grasped the side of her head as they slowly slid off as she got out of the vehicle. She looks nervous, almost ashamed in a sense. But maybe that is the shame Jake feels, and he’s projecting it onto her.
She has no shame; she wouldn’t be parked in front of Jake’s apartment seeking something if she had shame, but Jake isn’t sure what. Just 6 months ago she blocked an ran off with the guy she is now running from. She always has better options than Jake. At least that what she tells herself.
