Don’t Let The Narcissists Underestimate How Much Abuse You Will Accept
They will keep testing to see what they can get away with.
But I can see why you think this way. They are just doing what they know, just like that five-year-old who “tests” those around them to see what they can get away with.
The more the Narcissists get away with, the more they will keep you around. When you no longer adhere to nor support their delusional narrative or agenda, see ya!
Maybe that is what you mean by “underestimate?”
They, in a sense, keep testing people to see who is the most clueless fuck in their little cheering section. To underestimate someone means they’d have to be aware of what they are doing, and I really don’t think they do. I mean, they do in an irrational sense, but Narcissists aren’t rational.
There are some victims that lash back and cause a HUGE Narcissistic injury, but I don’t think the Narcissists believe they underestimated you; I just think it is parred for the course. The Narcissists can only fuck with so many people; sooner or later, they get burned. And someone lashes back at the Narcissists.
It’s similar to a career criminal; jail is part of their lifestyle. It’s a consequence of their acceptance of the lifestyle they want to chase.
Same with Narcissists. Sometimes they will have a clever, aware victim who gets tired of their shit and lets them have it.
In reality, in the end, some of the victims “underestimate” themselves.
When the victim finally breaks free, they finally see their worth and question why they ever put up with the Narcissist’s bullshit, to begin with.
