Educating About Narcissists Abuse Doesn’t Help
You have to experience it.
I used to think this shit should be taught as a mandatory class in middle school. But the stark reality is no amount of awareness, or education will teach you about your predisposition to date one.
For many, your fucked the minute you exit your Mamma’s womb. You’re going to be raised in an environment that is out of your control, and then drawn towards people, places and things that’s going to make your life a fucking circus of misery.
The sad reality is you have to experience it, before you realize just how damaging it is.
You can talk to you’re blue in the face, frustrated as fuck to someone who has NEVER experienced this type of abuse, and they will think you’re crazy. And not just “normal” people, therapist too.
I think therapist hurt me most when I was going through it. They gave the most outlandish and damaging advice, suggestions and flat out bullshit I’ve ever heard. Now, looking back, almost 3 years removed, most therapist should be IN THERAPY, not administering it. It’s scary.
You want education in narcissism? Date one, that’s your education. You want awareness? Break up with one, and that will start your PhD in something you had no idea existed until you did.
