Here Are My Stats After 6 Months of Writing
Consistency is key in earning money writing
I started writing as a kid. I remember writing my first story for English class, and I loved it! That was the last thing I wrote until 1.5 years ago. It took me over 35 years to revisit something I enjoy, but I thought I was a horrible writer.
I was terrible at grammar and punctuation. Thank god for Grammarly, although it can be a bit of a nuisance at times.
A year and a half ago, I started writing on Quora. I wrote on relationships, mindfulness, psychology, and narcissism. The more I wrote, the more I fell in love with writing and developed a bond with my readers and followers. For the first time in a long time, I had people relating to my life experiences.
The more I wrote, I thought, “I wonder if it’s possible to make a living at writing?” At least make a little bit from a hobby I enjoy. I saw an article by Sean Kernan about Medium, and he mentioned he wasn’t sure of his future at Quora and was more putting time into other platforms and freelance. So I checked it out.
The writers here, for the most part, are of a different caliber. I thought no way will I make money here. So from April and May of this year, I didn’t take it seriously. I posted a few articles but didn’t get much engagement.
