How Being Alone Doesn’t Necessarily Mean You Are Lonely.
If you are lonely you will definitely feel alone
It took me a long time to realize being alone doesn’t mean you are lonely. Some of the most “not” alone people are the most lonely.
We are judged if we aren’t dating or have a spouse. Why is that? It’s because people are afraid to be alone, and we’re conditioned from a very early age what the societal norm is.
I know; I fell for it too.
If you don’t enjoy your own company, you will eventually be one of the loneliest people around, and there are many of them; look around.
I’m an introvert at heart, but my own insecurities and anxiety lead to a life of surrounding myself with people from being alone. Does that make sense?
I use other people and “events” to cover my hidden loneliness. Sounds confusing, I know. But I don’t like myself; apparently, that’s what all my reading and research have led me to believe.
I have a hard time sitting with myself. I am always searching for my next distraction, even though I prefer being alone the majority of the time.
