How do You Know When It’s Time to Give Up or Try Harder?
A tale of two chipmunks where one gave up and the other tried harder.
A group of chipmunks was running through the woods. Generally, Chippy and Larry urban hike. But the other two chipmunks, Ballsy and Tucker, wanted to run through the woods.
Chippy and Larry knew this area pretty well. So they were a little ahead of the other two.
As they were bouncing around over logs, dodging rocks and trees, WHOOOSSSSSHHHH! They fell into a giant crack in the ground, and was lucky enough to land on a little lip halfway down!
They were panicking! They couldn’t get their little claws to dig in to pull themselves out. Every time they tried to climb out, a little more of the dirt wall would give way.
They kept trying and trying until the little lip they were on gave way! Now they were clinging onto a small root in the soil.
Ballsy and tucker both looked over the edge and saw the demise of their friends.
They yelled down, “Give up; there is no way out!” Tucker and Ballsy knew Chippy and Larry would die down there.
Chippy and Larry held each other as they clinched on for the dear life. It didn’t take long for Chippy to let go; she gave up.
