Is it Hard to Live Life as an Addict?

Actually, it’s easy, you know? Having no responsibility, purpose, drive, goals, nothing.

Just live a life revolving around something that will eventually fuck your life up, or make your existence miserable.

In reality, we are all addicted to something. Ideally it’d be best to get addicted to something that has a positive effect on your life, and at the same time learn a balance to not destroy it.

I’m 40 days free from binge drinking. Life is more difficult living how I am now, sober. While I feel mental, and physical improvement daily, the consequences from years of destruction are going to take some time to fix.

But in fixing the destruction comes with a different way of life. Figuring this out at 50 years old isn’t for the faint of heart, it’s grueling, depressing and is getting overwhelming at 35 days in. But I just stay the course and keep doing the next right thing and taking action on important decisions I’ve ignored for years.

I’m learning unmade decision, choices you leave in limbo, will create a shit ton of anxiety. The things you know you need to do, but don’t. And drinking was one BIG decision I made to stop, and the most important one I had to tackle first if any change is possible in my life.
