One Example of Toxic Femininity I Will Never Understand
Many double standards in today’s world are frustrating.
Men are raised to not hit women; well, most men. That is one of the biggest no-no’s in prison also, if you are there for a crime against a woman. That and crimes against children.
I don’t understand the women who assault men because they know they won’t hit back. I had this happen to me a couple years ago. The girl I was dating at the time thought it was Ok to punch me in the nuts. I have no idea why I didn’t defend myself and hit back out of reaction, but I didn’t.
I talked to friends about it, and they were surprised my knee-jerk reaction wasn’t to haul off and hit her back. Oddly, it never crossed my mind to hit her because I was stunned. Her daughter later told me to “suck it up.” I was floored by that comment. Her daughters reasoning was she is 93lbs, and I am 240lbs, so I guess I’m supposed to accept being physically assaulted. Another fine product of excellent parenting.
Now, if we flip this situation or hell, reverse it, if I would have defended myself and she called the cops, guess who would have gone to jail? 99% of the time, the male will.
