The only issue is you have to be self aware to see it.
Oh, they change you alright but not in the way most believe. Once you get past all the anger, humiliation, resentment, pain and self hate, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
If we were fortunate enough to go into this cluster fuck of a relationship with some awareness of what “Narcissism” in the beginning, boy would we learn A LOT about ourselves in a shorter amount of time.
I have my days of anger, and man do I have them. Also mixed with depression and lack of hope. But today isn’t one of those days.
If you pay attention in a Narcissistic relationship they will teach you a lot about your weaknesses where improvement is needed. Sure, they duped and lied to you. But you had some shit going on well before you fell for their bullshit.
After the first initial meeting and few dates something began to seem off, right? If you don’t see it now, get more distance and space, then you will begin to see “little” flags that turned in to enormous flags you ignored.
