The Delusional Idea That Love, and life, is Like We See in Movies

Wouldn’t it be nice if our life was like every Hallmark Romance?

Life can be just like a movie, but it depends on what movie you are watching.

I notice movies can be a form of escape. You know?

The hallmark “romance” everyone wants, but fucks up? People convince themselves movies are “real” life, when they are nothing more than a distraction from the miserable life we create.

Movies are a quick 1.5–2 hour escape from an existence we try to avoid.

Everything from the marriage you can’t stomach any longer, to the job that is soul sucking. It’s so easy to get lost in a movie and vision yourself living that “script.”

I suggest writing your own movie. Make sure the leading character, you, knows what the fuck is going on.

There’s nothing worse than watching a movie with a shitty ending.

The ending makes or breaks many movies.

It can have the best “actors” money can buy. It can have the best plot with many twist, but then the ending. God damn the ending.

That ending sucked!

We’ve all seen movies like that, right? I mean, “lived” movies like that.

How does your movie end?
