The Secret to Happiness is Unhappiness

It’s not a secret if you peel away societal conditioning.

Humans aren’t designed to be happy. We were created to survive, and reproduce, that’s it. Happiness is something that is created outside our primal instincts.

Happiness comes in waves. It’s impossible to be happy all the time. It happens in between the cycle of survival, and life. And those who preach we have to be happy all the time, are ones to be avoided in my opinion.

So many chase happiness, with “things, people, or places.” Only to find out it’s all temporary. Before you know it, you want another car, or a newer one. A bigger house, or a white picket fence. Or a “new” partner, because they aren’t “doing” it for you any longer.

It’s all an illusion

Chasing happiness will lead you exactly to what you are trying to escape, misery.

Embrace the misery, but accept the happiness when it presents itself.

You can’t place limits on something not tangible.

It’s a state of mind, not a feeling.

And sooner, or later, whatever it is you “think” makes you happy will end up doing the exact opposite in time. It’s an artful balancing act few accomplish.
