What Are The Signs Someone Has Suffered From Narcissistic Abuse?

The abuse can be slow and subtle as it slowly chips away at your soul.
- Insanity: We will appear insane, no shit. Friends, family, and acquaintances will be left scratching their heads, thinking, “what the fuck do we see in this person?” One minute we “got it,” the next minute, we are chasing the abuser down, asking for forgiveness. We put up with the most insane shit that no one will understand — most of the time apologizing for the abuse they dish out.
- Reality: You will lose yours and adapt their false reality. And the longer you are with them, the deeper you will fall. You won’t know up from down any longer. You will question the most mundane shit as the abuser gaslights and projects any form of actual reality you had. The abuser will strip it all away.
- Physical Health: Our physical health begins to fail. Maybe we are gaining or losing significant amounts of weight. Perhaps we picked up an unhealthy addiction. We can’t sleep, our overall physical health is deteriorating. Emotional abuse can be detrimental to our physical health.
- Rumination/obsession: We will talk to anyone who will listen as we try to sort out the mess in our minds. We are looking for anyone to validate our “normal” reactions to abuse. In which the abuser gaslights, projects, and blame…
