What is the Most Challenging Part of Being a Writer?

Creativity is a big part, but it’s far more than that.

For me, it’s vulnerability. I open myself up to the millions of people that read me on Quora. Why do I do it? I’m not sure.

I imagine it’s me seeking some type of validation that I’m not as crazy as I feel at times. But maybe I am?

Many writers open themselves up to criticism if they are honest in their writings, and I write outside the box. I’m more comfortable in my writings than I am in real life. I can also express myself better in my writings than in real life.

Is that a bad trait? Possibly.

But it can be worked on. If you can express yourself in your words and others relate, you have a fighting chance.

I can pause before I react to people in the comments. I have been fortunate not to have many haters in my 2-year journey of writing.

The most challenging part is putting my thoughts out there for millions to read. I want feedback. I need to hear it at times if it’s painful, but the comments I get from those who relate help me more than they know. I don’t delete comments unless it’s spam.

If you can get the reader to think about your writing hours or days later that is ideal.
