What Things Are Bad For Your Mental Health?
Normal, everyday life can have long-term effects on mental health.
I’ve spent most of my life taking part in unhealthy distractions that have stunted my growth, physically, mentally, and spiritually.
I’ve eaten the wrong foods, buried emotions with toxins, and dated some horrific people. I did it all for the almighty word of “happiness.”
I’m finally taking a hard look in the mirror, character defects and all, and it’s painful.
Here is what I’ve learned.
Social media: Believing and comparing your life to someone’s “fake” life can be damaging. Nothing on social media is as good as it seems. Find people who are authentic, and live a life of imperfection and all.
Media: They spread fear, hate, separation, and drama around the clock. Limit your time listening to or watching global/local news. Shits downright depressing.
Lack of exercise: Get some form of physical activity 5–6 days a week and watch your mental health flourish.
Toxic people: Friends, partners, coworkers, boss, family, all of them. Rid your life of them. If you can’t completely take them out of your life, limit contact with them.
Nutrition: Limit your intake of processed food. It’s impossible to eat healthy…
