When Does “Living Your Best Life” Become Delusion?
Many say they are living it, but are they?
I think very few are living their “best” life. They live a life they were conditioned to believe is “their” best life.
I talk with hundreds of passengers a week from driving Uber. While it’s a small sample, the commonality is that they are living a life of “quiet” desperation.
People want freedom.
Not in the sense of being held captive, but it’s similar. They’re being held captive by what society and family see as normal. And they adopt that kind of “normal” thinking that’s the only life out there. There’s a whole world out there, and you have to pop the “bubble” to explore it.
Many don’t live their “best” lives out of fear; they just live their lives in general. Fear of being judged, what others will think about them, and what if they screw up?
I never wanted the traditional life, but my life started traditionally. But I’ve always yearned for something different. I can’t explain it.
There is so much more to life.
The “best” life is an illusion of the delusional.
Look at social media; case in point.
