Who is The One Person in Your Life That Inspired You to do Your Best?
We all have that one person, even if they aren’t perfect.
I knew this guy. He was raised in a family of 9. His dad lost his business to a crooked partner, and from then on out, it was a struggle. He dropped out of school in 7th grade to help around the house and to do odd jobs to help with expenses.
There was a time when he and his brothers didn’t go out and kill the food they wouldn’t eat. They lived in a single-room motel for a while so his father could search for work.
After years of being raised in a dysfunctional family, he decided the Army was his best option to escape the chaos. He went to the Army, sending most of his money home to his parents to help pay the bills.
Before he left for the Army, he met a girl that kept him on the straight and narrow. It’s said she kept him out of jail, off drugs, and on a path to a better life.
He left the military, came home, and married the girl. They ended up having 3 children; life was a struggle. Just when things would start going well, he would get laid off. He would work nights, and his wife would work days, so one of them was home with the kids. He would cook for the kids, do laundry, and help around the house, all while holding down 2 jobs…
