Why Choosing a Life Coach Over a Psychologist Could Make Your Situation Worse

It’s essential to choose wisely and do your research before choosing mental health help.

There are some great coaches out there. But they are far and few between. Life coaching, to me, is too broad of a “label.” If you are seeking help for a particular mental health issue, I’d advise you to steer clear of life coaches. And if you are set on using a coach, make sure and do your research. I’m talking about digging deep into who they are and their qualifications.

The land of delusion

Unfortunately, there is a handful that gives the field a horrible name, just like any career. I believe many toxic, manipulative people love to jump into this field to “play” psychologists when they are fucking mental. The life coaching world has become a playground for narcissists. What better way to show superiority than throwing out a label you achieved by taking some online course my 14-year-old nephew could pass.

Be very careful and aware when choosing a coach. In my opinion, if someone isn’t well known, qualified, and backed up with credible sources and education, steer clear of them!! They will do more damage than good. It could be catastrophic.
