I went out this afternoon with my nephew. We make it a plan to get together 3–4 days a month for lunch. The last three places we chose were new, all horrible. So today, he wanted to try a Chinese restaurant. I am not a big fan of Chinese food, but I love fortune cookies! So, off we went.

The time came for the check, it was my turn to pay, and she quickly took the card and brought back what I came here for my fortune cookie! I was quickly reminded why I’m not a fan. Other than the food, there are many reasons, but we will leave that for another article.

Please, Sweet Baby Jesus, give me a sign my life is about to change! Some would say I am superstitious, spiritual, insane, or maybe a little of all three; I question many things nowadays. My nephew gave me a choice of which cookie I wanted, and I picked the one furthest to the right. I slowly crack it open, and here is what I get.

My cookie

Are you kidding me another sign of learning a god damn “lesson?” How many lessons does a person need to learn? I know, I know, life is…
